with busy life styles, work etc getting in the way of the things we really want to do, what do you do to keep your wing chun in shape? i for one go through the form every morning, any spare 5 minutes at work im doing a bong sau, to larp, to throat chop etc etc to an imaginary bad guy.
at my dummy i do inner and outer gate blocks and attacks using all i have learnt so far.
anyone got any other great ideas to share from their daily routines?
just walking down the road i have urges to chop at lamposts as i walk past, but i refrain of course!

one of my sihing’s recommended a good way to practice your chain punching energy by instead punching downwards instead of forwards (i.e. normally). I guess it doesn’t look so weird if you wanted to practice chain punching on say the tube!

I try doing 1st form when I have a sunbed? only broken 1 bulb so far … lol ….so guess that would work in a lift or equiv, its the only one that you can do in an enclosed space stood still, but foot work you can always practice round the house, or street if it’s quiet so you don’t look like a fruit cake … depends on your lifestyle and what you want to practice really?

I do all the forms in my head on the train. Apparently if you imagine it hard enough the brain thinks you are actually doing it – so that explains why I started getting all hot and sweaty.

I haven’t done it for a while – but it definitely helped with remember the form and once I got to work I did the first form in the toilet.

Sometimes I do the hand part of the forms in the toilet or in the shower. Also it’s fun to stand in stance on the train and imagine doing the forms. And finally while driving if you turn sharp left your right hand can become a bong and your left hand a tan if you rest it inside the hole in the steering wheel. Of course I don’t recommend this for regular people.

i do the forms every morning, without fail, how strict are the rest of you with this? do you do it everyday?
it amazes me how wing chun gets used in everything i do, if i open a cupboard door, i stop the swing with a bong sau, elbow it shut again. in any decision i have to make, i use the most direct route to get the best outcome (economy of motion almost)
its everywhere, all around me, it makes life easier, i absolutely love it!!!
